This month the world received the shocking news that Steve Jobs had died. Born in 1955, on February 24th, Steve Jobs died on October 5th, 2011. His death was caused by the cancer that he was fighting for years now. Steve Jobs influenced the world and technology in a huge way, something that few people did as much before him. You can easily call him the biggest inventor and influencer from the last few decades.

Steve Jobs is immortal thanks to his influence on technology, as a co-founder of Apple and of Pixar Studios. Some of the products released under his supervision while he was at Apple include the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad, all three being products which changed the world. Apple under Steve Jobs’ leadership has been an innovator and a company that all others followed. As soon as Apple releases a new product, dozens of other companies rush to create similar products.

One thing that gives you an idea of just how big of an inventor he was, is that Steve Jobs has a total of 342 patents with the US office, either as a co-founder or as a founder. His patents deal with things like keyboards, staircases, speakers, user interfaces, clasps, lanyards, sleeves, packages, portable devices and computers.

Some of the honors he received include the Technology National Medal in 1984, the Public Service Jefferson Award, the most powerful man in business in 2007 and many others.

He is often described as a genius, a pioneer and a visionary, when it comes to product design, innovation and business. He managed to revolutionize six industries at least with his work and people from all over the world felt a loss when his death was announced.

During the last decades, few men had such a huge influence as Steve Jobs over the world and we can now safely say that Steve Jobs is immortal.
